Las Moradas de San Martin Albillo Real 2020- $21.99/btl $2.50/taste

San Martin>Valdeiglesias>Madrid>Spain

Las Moradas is a pioneering winery and estate with 21 hectares of vines surrounded by pine and oak trees at the elevation of 850 meters above sea level. The unique terroir with dramatic diurnal shifts offers REALLY cool options for organic farming and as natural as it gets winemaking. This native grape Albilllo Real is hand-harvested, crushed whole-cluster and left covered to naturally ferment for 3 weeks before spending 6 months in neutral French oak barrels. The really, really cool part is that they take a portion of the must and allow it to oxidize outside of the fermentation before it’s blended back in for the secondary alcoholic fermentation. The nuanced honey, quince and white flower aromatics are just stunning.

L'Arboc 1919 Cava Rose NV- $13.99/btl $2.50/taste

Tarragona>Catalonia>Spain

Made of 100% Trepat and aged 12 months using the traditional sparkling method of adding yeast to the bottle and allowing the secondary (sparkling, in this instance) fermentation to happen in the bottle. This pretty pink popper is fresh and lively with strawberry and citrus notes accompanying its persistent bubbles.

Las Moradas de San Martin Senda Garnacha 2019- $17.99/btl $2.50/taste

Remember all that stuff I wrote earlier? Well, that. But now it’s a grape you know! Grenache! This wine is SO GOOD and I just know you’re going to love it. Las Moradas is really doing the Lord’s work here, truly carving out one of the most unique expressions of Garnacha in Spain. If this was French it would cost $50, no doubt. All the greenery on the property is very present in every sip making this wine a blind-tasting nightmare! There’s no way I’d guess this one.

Barramundi Shiraz 2021- $15.99/btl $2.50/taste

Murray Darling>Victoria>Australia

A casual red with plum, pepper, dark berries and light vanilla notes. I know this because I’ve tasted it and it’s good. If I were quoting the winery tasting-notes we would ALL be cringing right now. Just trust me. You’re WELCOME. Perfect for a BARBEQUE.
